5.9 magnitude earthquake strikes Japan
Early Monday morning, Ishikawa Prefecture in Japan was struck by a magnitude 5.9 earthquake, as reported by the Japan Meteorological Agency. The earthquake occurred at approximately 6:31 am.
Authorities have confirmed that there is no risk of a tsunami following the earthquake.
The Japan Meteorological Agency and local officials continue to monitor the situation, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents in the affected areas.
According to AFP, the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Noto Peninsula, the same area where a destructive earthquake claimed the lives of over 230 people in January this year.
