6 JU unit Chhatra Dal leaders expelled, 3 relieved
Six leaders of Jahangirnagar University unit Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal have been expelled on charges of "violating organisational discipline".
In addition, three more leaders of the university have been relieved from organizational positions.
Md Jahangir Alam, office secretary of Chhatra Dal, announced the decisions in two separate press statements on Friday.
The expelled leaders are--Jobayer Al Mahmud, Naimur Rahman Kaushik, Abdul Gaffar, Al Imran, Abdul Kader Marjuk, and Iqbal Hossain.
The press note said that as per the decision of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal central council, they have been expelled from their organisational positions, including primary membership, based on specific allegations of violation of organisational discipline.
Another notice said that based on specific allegations, Jahangirnagar University unit Chhatra Dal members Nishat Abdullah, Shamsuzzaman Sayem and Hasib Bin Abdul Hai were relieved from their organizational posts.
Chhatra Dal leaders and activists at all levels were instructed not to have any organizational relationship with them.
On January 8, the central Chhatra Dal announced a new committee of 177 members with former student of the chemistry department of Jahangirnagar University Zahir Uddin as the convener and former student of the philosophy department Wasim Ahmed as the member secretary.
On Thursday afternoon, an introductory meeting of the newly formed committee of Chhatra Dal was held in the seminar room of the university's Zahir Raihan auditorium.
