60 km/h storm with heavy rain expected tonight: BMD warns
A storm with wind speeds between 40 and 60 kilometers per hour is expected to sweep across the country in the next eight hours, continuing until 1:00 AM on Wednesday (May 22).
According to a statement from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the storm is expected to move over Pabna, Tangail, Mymensingh, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Sylhet from the western and north-western regions between 3:00 PM on Tuesday and 1:00 AM on Wednesday.
During this period, rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds may also affect the regions.
The meteorological office has instructed all river ports in the affected areas to hoist danger signal-1 in response to the forecast.
