6,000 more doctors to be recruited: Health minister
Health Minister Samanta Lal Sen has told the National Assembly that 6,000 more doctors will be appointed to fill the vacant posts in health institutions across the country.
The health minister also said that the proposal for the appointment of 2,000 doctors in the first phase has been sent to the Health Service Division from the Directorate General of Health Services.
The health minister revealed the information in a written statement in response to the notice given by the MPs on Sunday (June 9) in the Jatiya Sangsad.
Barguna-2 Constituency MP Sultana Nadira from the ruling party, reserved seat MP Parvin Zaman and independent MP Chanuar Hossain Chanu in the Parliament submitted a written notice to the health minister regarding the recruitment of manpower in the health complexes of their respective constituencies.
In response Health Minister Samant Lal Sen in the written statement said, “An initiative has been taken to recruit 6,000 new doctors (MBBS and dental) to fill the vacant posts of doctors in all health institutions across the country. For that, a proposal for the recruitment of 2,000 doctors has been sent to the Health Service Division from the Directorate General of Health Services,”
