7 Bangladeshis arrested in Delhi-NCR
Seven Bangladeshi nationals were arrested in Delhi-NCR, India, on Monday. According to police sources, all of them had illegally entered India by swimming across the river at the Bangladesh border. Among them is a 15-year-old minor.
The process of repatriating them to Bangladesh has already begun, and they have been presented before the FRRO (Foreigners Regional Registration Office). Currently, all have been sent to a detention center, and the police are interrogating the accused.
A team from the Delhi Police arrested these seven Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally in the NCR during a special operation in the eastern district. The accused are Dilawar Khan (48), Beauty Begum (39), Rafikul (43), Tauhid (20), Md Azhar (28), Zakir Malik (40) and a 15-year-old minor girl. Efforts are being made to determine if any other associates are living here.
During interrogation, the accused Dilawar initially claimed to be a citizen of West Bengal. After intense questioning, Dilawar Khan admitted that he is a Bangladeshi national. Based on his information, six more individuals were arrested from Delhi-NCR. They crossed the border by swimming across the river and then dispersed. During interrogation, all of them admitted to entering India by swimming across the river at the border.
DCP (East) Abhishek Dhania of the Delhi Police stated that they lived in various locations to conceal their identities. The deportation process for these seven illegal Bangladeshi nationals has already begun.
Over the past few days, the process of apprehending illegal Bangladeshi nationals in the Delhi-NCR region has been ongoing continuously. The Delhi Police has stated that this operation will continue in the coming days as well.
