7 pieces of body of an unknown person recovered from Purbachal

The police have recovered the body of an unidentified person from a lake at Purbachale under Rupganj upazila in Narayanganj.

The body was recovered from Brahmankhali Lake in Purbachal sub-town of the upazila on Wednesday morning. The identity of the body has not yet been found.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rupganj Police Station Liaquat Ali said that around 7:00am on this day, locals informed the police after seeing the body of a man cut into 7 pieces floating in the water of Purbachal's Brahmankhali Lake. Later, the police went to the spot and recovered the body.

The OC also said that it is believed that the body of the 45-year-old man was cut into pieces and dumped there after killing him approximately 5/6 days ago. Attempts are being made to identify the body. The body has been sent to the morgue for autopsy.
