71 Bangladeshis arrested in Malaysia
The Kuala Lumpur Immigration Department (JIM) in Malaysia arrested 71 Bangladeshis from the Bukit Bintang area in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday. In total, 176 people were arrested during the operation.
Wan Mohammed Saupee Wan Yusoff, the director of Kuala Lumpur JIM, revealed that the detainees are being investigated for overstaying in Malaysia and for lacking valid travel documents.
The operation, which began at 7:15 pm, was conducted after receiving complaints from the public.
Along with Bangladeshis, the detainees also include individuals from Myanmar, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, Egypt, and Sudan.
Following their arrest, the individuals were taken to the Kuala Lumpur Immigration Headquarters for further processing.
