80 kmph gusty storm may occur in 7 areas

A gusty rain with a maximum speed of 80 km per hour has been forecasted over seven regions of the country including Dhaka, predicts the Department of Meteorology.

The department reported this in a weather forecast for the internal river ports of the country till one o'clock on Sunday (April 7).

The forecast said rain/thunder with gusty winds at a speed of 60-80 km per hour may occur from the west or north-west direction over Khulna, Jessore, Kushtia, Satkhira, Madaripur, Faridpur and Dhaka regions. The river ports in these areas have been asked to display naval warning signal number 2.

Apart from this, stormy winds with rain/thundershower at a speed of 45-60 km per hour from west or north-west may occur over Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Barisal, Mymensingh and Sylhet regions. River ports in these areas have been asked to display naval warning signal No. 1.
