83.04% pass, equivalent exams
The pass rate in the Secondary School Certificate and equivalent exams has risen to 83.04% percent in 2024, from 80.39 percent last year. This year's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exam results have been released on Sunday. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina officially announced the results at 11 am.
Earlier, Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury handed over the copy of results to the Prime Minister at Ganabhaban at 10 am.
State Minister for Education Begum Shamsun Nahar, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Begum Rumana Ali and others were present in the result handing over ceremony.
Here is the Board-wise pass rate:Jashore Board: 92.32%, Dhaka Board: 89.32%, Barisal Board: 89.13%, Rajshahi Board: 89.25%, Mymensingh Board: 84.97%, Sylhet Board: 73.35%, Chattogram Board: 82.80%, Cumilla Board: 79.23%, Dinajpur Board: 78.40%
On February 15, SSC and equivalent exams started simultaneously across the country. The written exam ended on March 12. The practical exam was held between 13th to 20th March.
A total of 20,24,192 candidates appeared for the SSC, Dakhil, SSC (Vocational), and Dakhil (Vocational) exams in 2024. This number reflects a decrease of approximately 48,000 candidates compared to the previous year. The examinations, which included theory and practical tests, were conducted under strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols. Students from 29,735 educational institutions across the country participated in exams held in 3,700 centers, with an additional eight centers abroad.
