Bangladeshi expatriates have sent US $986 million in remittance in 12 days of October, showing an upward trend of inward remittance flow in the legal channel. According to the latest update of the Bangladesh Bank (BB), the expatriates have sent $8.22 crore in the country in a day till Monday (October 14). Analysing the central bank data shows that state-owned 6 bank received $ 245.57 million in remittance, specialized Bangladesh Krishi Bank received $44.45 million, 43 private commercial banks received $693.57 million and 5 foreign commercial banks received $2.64 million in remittance till Monday, reports UNB. In the current fiscal year FY2024-25, the expatriates sent $1.91 billion remittance in July, $2.22 billion in August, and $ 2.4 billion in September.

অক্টোবর মাসের প্রথম ১২ দিনে ৯৮৬ মিলিয়ন মার্কিন ডলার রেমিট্যান্স পাঠিয়েছেন প্রবাসীরা। এর ফলে বৈধ চ্যানেলে রেমিট্যান্স প্রবাহের প্রবণতা ঊর্ধ্বমুখী হয়েছে। বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের সর্বশেষ হালনাগাদ তথ্য অনুযায়ী, সোমবার (১৪ অক্টোবর) পর্যন্ত একদিনে ৮.২২ কোটি ডলার দেশে পাঠিয়েছেন প্রবাসীরা। হালনাগাদ তথ্য বিশ্লেষণে দেখা যায়, সোমবার পর্যন্ত রাষ্ট্রায়ত্ত ৬ ব্যাংকে ২৪৫.৫৭ মিলিয়ন রেমিট্যান্স এসেছে, যার মধ্যে বাংলাদেশ কৃষি ব্যাংকেই এসেছে ৪৪.৪৫ মিলিয়ন মার্কিন ডলার। অন্যদিকে ৪৩টি বেসরকারি বাণিজ্যিক ব্যাংকে ৬৯৩.৫৭ মিলিয়ন মার্কিন ডলার এবং ৫টি বিদেশি বাণিজ্যিক ব্যাংকে ২.৬৪ মিলিয়ন মার্কিন ডলার রেমিট্যান্স এসেছে। উল্লেখ্য, চলতি ২০২৪-২৫ অর্থবছরের জুলাইয়ে ১.৯১ বিলিয়ন ডলার, আগস্টে ২.২২ বিলিয়ন ডলার এবং সেপ্টেম্বরে ২.৪ বিলিয়ন ডলার রেমিট্যান্স পাঠান প্রবাসীরা।
