Actor Ahmed Rubel no more
Actor Ahmed Rubel, 55, has passed away (Inna Lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un) on Wednesday evening. According to sources from the actors' Guild, he suffered a heart attack and was quickly taken to a hospital in the capital, where doctors declared him dead.
Today, he was supposed to attend the premiere of a new film "Peyrar Subash" at the Star Cineplex in Bashundhara City. With this intention, he left home but collapsed in the parking lot of the shopping mall. He was then rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, he passed away before reaching there.
Ahmed Rajib Rubel, commonly known as Ahmed Rubel, was born on May 3, 1968, in Rajarampur village of Chapainawabganj. His father's name is Ayesh Uddin.
Although his family home is in Chapainawabganj, he grew up in Dhaka city from childhood. He was currently residing in Gazipur with his family.
The journey of Ahmed Rubel's acting began from Salim Al Deen's "Dhaka Theatre". His first drama was "Swopnajatra" by Gias Uddin Salim.
He then acted in Humayun Ahmed's Eid drama "Poka", where his character "Gora Majid" gained widespread popularity. Besides, he has acted in numerous television dramas and films. Most of the characters he portrayed were highly appreciated.
