Actors Equity elects Azad Abul Kalam president, Rashed Mamun Apu secretary

Popular actor Azad Abul Kalam has been elected president of the Actors Equity Bangladesh, the organization for television drama artists while Rashed Mamun Apu the general secretary.

The election was held at the Chitrashala of Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka on Saturday (April 19) with voting taking place throughout the day.

The results were announced at 9 PM by election commissioners Naresh Bhuiyan and Faruque Ahmed.

Azad Abul Kalam won the presidential post by defeating Abdullah Rana. For the General Secretary post, Rashed Mamun Apu defeated Shahed Sharif Khan.

A total of 40 candidates competed for 21 positions in the election.

Azizul Hakim, Md Iqbal Babu, and Shams Sumon were elected as Vice Presidents. Sujat Shimul and Rajib Saleheen became Joint General Secretaries. Masud Rana Mithu was elected as Organizational Secretary, and RA Rahul became the Information & Technology Secretary.
