Adviser Hasan Arif passes away
Civil Aviation and Tourism and Land Adviser to the interim government AF Hasan Arif has passed away.
He breathed his last at LabAid Hospital at 3pm on Friday (December 20) in the capital.
Adviser Hasan Arif’s son Barrister Muaz Arif’s wife Mahbuba Akhter Nila confirmed the matter to Views Bangladesh.
AF Hasan Arif was sworn in as an adviser to the interim government on August 8.
He served as Attorney General from 2001 to 2005. He also served as an adviser to the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry, and the Land and Religion Ministry of the caretaker government led by Fakhruddin Ahmed.
Hasan Arif was born in Kolkata in 1941. He completed his secondary and higher secondary education from St Xavier's College, Kolkata. He then completed his graduation and LLB degrees from the University of Kolkata.
He practiced as a lawyer in the Kolkata High Court in 1967. He then came to Dhaka and started working in the High Court of Bangladesh.
Hasan Arif worked in the field of advising foreign investors, construction arbitration, commercial arbitration, finance, banking and securities matters, corporate, commercial and taxation matters, constitutional law matters, public hearings, arbitration and other methods of alternative dispute resolution.
