AICWA bans Turkey and Azerbaijan from Bollywood

The All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has completely banned Turkey and Azerbaijan from Bollywood after both countries openly supported Pakistan in the recent India-Pakistan conflict.

As a result, producers, production companies, artists, and technicians from Turkey and Azerbaijan will not be allowed to work in Bollywood or even enter India. Bollywood actors, artists, directors, and crew members have also announced that they will not shoot any films in those two countries.

In a statement released on Thursday (May 15), AICWA said that all existing agreements with Turkey will be reviewed and may be cancelled if necessary.

The statement further mentioned that any Indian director or actor currently working with Turkey or Azerbaijan will be investigated. Strict action will be taken against those who continue to collaborate with them.

Turkey and Azerbaijan declared their support for Pakistan on May 8, in the ongoing conflict and criticized India’s 'Operation Sindoor'. Following this announcement, Indian media outlets like Republic World reported that many Indian citizens have started cancelling their travel plans to Turkey and Azerbaijan.
