A peace and development rally of Awami League (AL) will be held in front of Aarong in capital’s Mohammadpur area at 3:30pm today (May 11). AL General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Friday informed this at a joint meeting at party central office in capital’s Bangabandhu Avenue. Quader said AL doesn’t hold counter program. The party will arrange a peace and development rally. He urged all to join the rally.

আওয়ামী লীগের শান্তি ও উন্নয়ন সমাবেশ আজ (শনিবার) বিকেল সাড়ে ৩টায় মোহাম্মদপুর আড়ংয়ের সামনে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। শুক্রবার বিকেলে বঙ্গবন্ধু এভিনিউস্থ আওয়ামী লীগের কেন্দ্রীয় কার্যালয়ে অনুষ্ঠিত এক যৌথ সভার শুরুতে বক্তব্য রাখতে গিয়ে এই কথা জানান দলের সাধারণ সম্পাদক এবং সড়ক পরিবহন ও সেতুমন্ত্রী ওবায়দুল কাদের। তিনি বলেন, ‘অনেকে বলে আমরা পাল্টাপাল্টি সমাবেশ করছি, আসলে আমরা কোনো সমাবেশ করছি না। আমরা এখানে যৌথসভা করছি। আগামীকাল (আজ) শনিবার আমাদের মন্ত্রিসভার সদস্য, আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতিমন্ডলীর সদস্য জাহাঙ্গীর কবির নানকের সংসদীয় এলাকায় আমরা একটি শান্তি ও উন্নয়ন সমাবেশ করব। সেখানে সবাইকে আমন্ত্রণ জানাচ্ছি।’
