Anif Rubeda, known for his unique style of writing, is a poet, novelist, and short story writer. This year, at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair, Rubeda’s latest poetry collection, "Je Jiber Hat Nei Paa Nei Purotai Pet (The Creature Without Hands or Legs, Only a Stomach)" is available.
The collection contains 72 poems, each line deeply touching the heart. Every verse prompts new thoughts, teaching readers how to feel and think in a fresh way. It expands the thought process of any reader, offering a new perspective.
According to the author, " Je Jiber Hat Nei Paa Nei Purotai Pet" refers to the Earth itself. Yes, the Earth is a living creature. The Earth, this creature, is entirely a stomach. And surrounding the stomach are numerous faces—both lifeless and alive. These faces are mobile, slowly revolving around the stomach as they please. Some of Earth’s faces sing like birds, spreading colorful feathers and dancing in the air, while others, like birds and fish, peck at the eyes of fish or tear out the hearts of rats. But the greatest face of all is human, and the primary food of that face is also human.
