Another child dies while undergoing circumcision in capital hospital

There have been allegations of another child's death due to wrong treatment while undergoing circumcision at a hospital in the capital. The incident took place at JS Diagnostic and Medical Checkup Center in Malibagh on Tuesday night (February 20). In this connection, police picked up two doctors of this medical center at Hatirjheel police station.

The name of the deceased child is Ahnaf Tahmin Ayham. He was a student of class four at Motijheel Ideal School and College.

The child's family complained that Ayham was admitted to the health center in Malibagh around 8.00pm on Tuesday for circumcision. He did not regain consciousness after giving anesthesia. He was pronounced dead within an hour. After the incident, the doctor, under whom Ayham was admitted, absconded.

In this regard, on Wednesday morning, Hatirjheel police station Sub-Inspector Abdul Quddus said, "Two doctors have been detained in connection with the death of a child at JS Diagnostic and Medical Checkup Center in Malibagh. Preparations are underway to file a case against them."

Earlier, 5-year-old Ayan died while undergoing circumcision at the United Medical College Hospital in the capital. The case is ongoing in the court.
