Anti-drug drives in capital, 24 arrested
As part of different anti-drug drives in the capital, members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested 24 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during the last 24 hours till 6.00am on Sunday (March 25).
According to DMP sources, police conducted these operations against the drug sellers and consumers in different areas under various police stations in the metropolis.
During the anti-drug raids, police seized 1,930 pieces of yaba tablets, 90 grams of heroin, 4.900 kilograms of cannabis (ganja) and 80 bottles of Phensedyl syrup.
Police filed 15 separate cases against the arrestees in those connections with respective police stations under the Narcotics Control Act.
