Anti-drug drives in capital, 27 arrested
As part of different anti-drug drives in the capital, members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested 27 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during the last 24 hours till 6.00am on Friday (April 19).
During the anti-drug raids, police seized 194 pieces of yaba tablets, 4 grams of heroin, 27.4kg of cannabis (ganja), 507 bottles of Phensedyl syrup and 1000 tapentadol tablets.
This information was revealed by the media and public relations department of DMP on Friday (April 19).
Being informed, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, according to a DMP statement today.
21 cases were filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
