Apex Astro-Olympiad set to kick off on July 5
The Apex Astro-Olympiad is scheduled to begin on July 5th. This announcement was made during a press conference by the Apex Astro-Olympiad National Committee, held on Saturday (June 8).
During the press conference, Mashhurul Amin, Chairman of the Bangladesh Astronomical Association, presented a written statement. As per the statement, students between the ages of 14 and 18 from schools and colleges are eligible to participate. Notably, university students are excluded from participation.
The preliminary selection phase for the nationwide Apex Astro-Olympiad is scheduled to commence on July 5, 2024. Following this, the Apex Astro-Olympiad national selection event will take place in Dhaka on August 3, 2024, featuring 500 contestants selected from the preliminary round.
Thirty individuals, comprising 15 from each of the senior and junior groups selected from the national selection program, will partake in a 4-day residential camp and final selection process. From this camp, five contestants will be chosen to represent Bangladesh in the upcoming 28th International Astronomy Olympiad.
Rules of Participation:
1. This event is for school-college level students born between 2006-2010 (aged 14-18).
2. No university student can participate in it.
3. Registration must be done by 30 June 2024.
4. No registration fee is required.
