Apu Biswas, Hero Alom sued in fraud case
Producer Simi Islam has lodged a fraud case against actress Apu Biswas, with content creator Hero Alam and Zahidul Islam also named as co-accused.
The case was filed by Simi Islam on October 24 at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Dhaka.
Simi claims that Apu Biswas and Zahidul Islam hacked her YouTube channel. She had previously filed a general diary and attempted to resolve the issue through the Film Producers and Distributors Association, but when no solution was found, she approached the court. The court has assigned the Tejgaon police to investigate the matter and has ordered them to submit a report by December 11.
According to the producer, Apu Biswas’s YouTube channel was managed by Apon.
The case claims that in August last year, Apu Biswas and Zahidul Islam, along with Apon, hacked Simi Islam's YouTube channel. Although Apu Biswas promised to return the channel, she failed to do so. Consequently, Simi filed a general diary with Lalbagh police station on January 28, accusing Apu and Apon. Upon learning of the situation, Hero Alam intervened as a mediator and promised to resolve the issue. It was later revealed that Apu Biswas had demanded Tk 10 lakh from Simi in exchange for returning the channel.
The complaint further mentions that after negotiations, Simi paid Hero Alom Tk 5 lakh in the hope of getting her channel back. Upon receiving the money, the channel was returned, but Simi discovered that her videos were missing. She informed Apu Biswas and Hero Alom about the missing content, but they delayed returning the videos. Although the issue was brought to the Film Producers Association, no resolution was reached, forcing Simi to take the matter to court.
