The world's largest oil company, Aramco, had tried to invest in Bangladesh several times. But they were not welcomed in those attempts, Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Issa bin Youssef Al-Duhailan has alleged. He also said that some people in Bangladesh discourage foreign investors for personal gain.

The Saudi ambassador said these things at a program organized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday (January 5) afternoon on economic relations between the two countries.

At the program, the Saudi ambassador said that some people in Bangladesh discourage foreign investors for personal gain. To overcome this crisis, Saudi Arabia will increase investment in Bangladesh. The relationship between the two countries cannot be limited to just exporting manpower.

At the program, Financial Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed said that the previous government had also driven South Korea's Samsung out of the airport, like Saudi Arabia's oil company Aramco. The government's job of increasing trade is not the government's alone. The government will create an environment, and the private sector will take advantage of it to increase trade.

Admitting that there is no foreign investment-friendly environment in Bangladesh, Foreign Affairs Advisor Towhid Hossain said, "There was not as much investment-friendly environment as was talked about for so long. But the interim government is determined to provide the right environment for foreign investors."

At the event, Foreign Affairs Advisor Towhid Hossain called on Saudi Arabia to increase investment in Bangladesh.
