Argentina received the good news of securing World Cup berth before they even entered the Monumental Stadium. Bolivia drew 0-0 against Uruguay, ensuring Argentina’s ticket to the 2026 FIFA World Cup as the seventh team.

Taking this joy with them, the Argentines took to the field and won easily against arch-rivals Brazil. Big star footballers like Lionel Messi, Lautaro Martinez, and Pablo Dybala could not play due to injuries. Argentina played like a champion team without them.

Argentina scored four goals in the impressive and massive 4-1 win against Brazil.

With this win, the defending champions are at the top of the table in the Latin American qualifying round with a maximum of 31 points from 14 matches. Argentina is guaranteed to play in the World Cup with five matches left. Ecuador is at number two in the table with 23 points from 14 matches, equal to them. They drew 0-0 with Chile. Uruguay is in third place with 21 points from 14 matches. Brazil also has 21 points from 14 matches. However, they are in fourth place.

Argentina showed their dominance against Brazil right from the start of the game. In the first two minutes of the match, the Brazilian footballers did not get the ball at all. Julián Alvarez scored a goal in the fourth minute. This is the third fastest goal in an Argentina-Brazil match. Enzo Fernandez scored another goal in the 12th minute, making the team happy. Even then, Brazil could not mount a meaningful attack.

Brazil have never conceded two goals in such a short period of time against Argentina in a World Cup qualifier. The five-time world champions, who were frustrated early in the match, got a goal back in the 26th minute. Mathias Cunha scored with a powerful shot. The forward scored his first goal for the national team. However, Argentina's dominance was not over. Thiago Almada, who tested goalkeeper Bento with a powerful left-footed shot from the left edge of the box in the 36th minute, dazzled the eyes.

The next minute, Alexis McAllister scored a great goal after receiving Fernandez's measured pass. Argentina led 3-1 in the first half.

Brazil entered the field with three changes in the second half. Rodrigo was replaced by Endric, Joelington by Joao Gomez, and Murillo, who had a yellow card, was replaced by Leo Ortiz. But that did not increase Brazil's dominance in the game.

There was no connection between the attack and the midfield. In the 56th minute, Almada's shot went over the post, and in the 61st minute, Nicolas Tagliafico missed a sure goal with a header from inside the box.

Rafinha tried. But he was unsuccessful. His free kick was blocked by the Argentine defense. He also failed to send the ball to the post.

The fight he promised before the match was not seen on the field. Argentina got another goal in the 71st minute. Giuliano Simeone, who replaced Almada, broke through the Brazilian defense, entered the left side and receiving the ball from Tagliafico's cross, he scored.

Argentina could have scored more goals in the last moments of the game. But Fernandez and Rodrigo de Tol missed the opportunity. As a result, Argentina celebrated a big victory at home.
