Arsenal crush Real 3-0 in UCL quarter-final match
Arsenal produced a stunning night at the Emirates Stadium in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, claiming a commanding 3-0 victory over European powerhouse Real Madrid to take a significant step toward the semi-finals.
Both teams pressed forward in the first half, but neither managed to break the deadlock. The momentum shifted in the second half, led by English midfielder Declan Rice. His brilliant free kicks in the 58th and 70th minutes left Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois with no chance.
Mikel Merino extended Arsenal’s lead with a third goal in the 75th minute. In the dying moments, Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga received a second yellow card and was sent off, deepening his team’s frustration.
Arsenal last reached the semi-finals in the 2008-09 season. Now, they will head to Santiago Bernabéu, determined to turn that long-awaited dream into reality.
