Attachment of S Alam's 58-acre land ordered
A Dhaka court has ordered the attachment of 58 acres of land worth Tk 368 crore belonging to S Alam Group owner Mohammad Saiful Alam and his family members.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain passed the order on Thursday (January 30) following an application by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The application to attach these lands was filed by ACC Deputy Director Md Abu Sayeed.
The ACC said t most of the 58 acres of land owned by S Alam and his family members are in Chattogram district. There is also some land in Narayanganj.
Earlier, on January 16, a Dhaka court ordered the freezing of more than 321 million shares in 24 companies owned by S Alam and his family members. The value of these shares is Tk 3,500 crore.
In addition, on January 14, the court ordered the attachment of immovable assets of Mohammad Saiful Alam and his family members worth Tk 200 crore, including land, flats, plots, buildings, and other properties in the capital's Gulshan, Dhanmondi, Uttara, Bashundhara, and other places.
At the same time, the court also ordered the freezing of 68 of their bank accounts. In addition, on December 19, the court ordered the freezing of 125 bank accounts in the names of Mohammad Saiful Alam and his family members.
