Members of Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Awami League Bogura Sadar upazila unit president Abu Sufian Shafiq and his wife Lipi Akther from the capital's Mohammadpur area on Wednesday night (18 Decembar). Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (media and public relations) Mohammad Talibur Rahman confirmed the matter, reports BSS. Muhammad Talebur Rahman stated that Sufian is an accused of 12 cases, filed during July-August student-people uprising. &nbsp;After being interrogated in intelligence custody, they will be sent to court.

জুলাই গণহত্যার ১২ মামলার এজাহারভুক্ত আসামি বগুড়া সদর উপজেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতি আবু সুফিয়ান শফিক ও তার স্ত্রী লিপি আক্তারকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে গোয়েন্দা পুলিশ (ডিবি)। বুধবার (১৮ ডিসেম্বর) রাত ৯টার দিকে রাজধানীর মোহাম্মদপুর থেকে তাদের গ্রেপ্তার করা হয় বলে জানিয়েছেন ঢাকা মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশের (ডিএমপি) ডিসি (মিডিয়া ও পাবলিক রিলেশন্স) মুহাম্মদ তালেবুর রহমান। তিনি আরও বলেন, তারা জুলাই গণহত্যার ১২টি মামলার এজাহারভুক্ত আসামি। তাদের গোয়েন্দা হেফাজতে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ শেষে আদালতে পাঠানো হবে।
