Aziz, Benazir don’t belong to AL: Quader
Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has commented that former army chief General Aziz Ahmed and former IGP Benazir Ahmed are not members of Awami League.
“The Sheikh Hasina-led government has the courage to prosecute them if they commit misdeeds,” he said while addressing a meeting organised on Tuesday (June 4) afternoon to discuss the preparations to celebrate the historic Six-point Day and the platinum jubilee of Awami League on June 23.
Quader said, "We have made it clear that Benazir is not a member of our party. He became IGP due to seniority. Aziz is also not a member of our party. He became the army chief based on his merit and seniority. We didn't place them as army and police chief whimsically.”
He said, "Now if they commit any misdeed during their tenure and the government comes to know about the wrongdoings, Sheikh Hasina's government has the courage to prosecute them."
