'Bangla Blockade' stalled today, class-examination boycott to continue
Students and job aspirants have been protesting by blocking the roads across the country for two consecutive days demanding the cancellation of the quota system in government jobs and the reinstatement of the 2018 circular.
However, there will be no road blockade on Tuesday (July 9), but the boycott of class and examination and student strike will continue, according to organisers of the movement.
Dhaka University student Nahid Islam, one of the organizers of the 'Anti-discrimination Student Movement', announced the next programme of the movement from Shahbag intersection at 8:30pm on Monday.
He said, "Tomorrow (Tuesdeay), we will conduct mass communication with all the student representatives all over the country. Later, we will announce a strict programme on Wednesday.”
He said that Wednesday's programme will be announced by holding a press briefing on Tuesday afternoon.
Nahid Islam said, "We want to make it clear that we will not stop just by enforcing this half-day blockade. We are planning a total blockade. Tomorrow our ongoing programme of student strike and class-exam boycott will continue. We have not withdrawn the blockade. We are just preparing for an all-out blockade.”
He also urged to prepare plans for blockade in all educational institutions across the country.
