Banglabandha land port to remain closed for three days
Import-export activities and passenger movement through Banglabandha land port in Panchagarh will remain suspended for three consecutive days due to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar constituencies of West Bengal, India, on April 19.
All import-export activities, including immigration at the port, have been suspended since Wednesday morning.
Banglabandha Immigration Official Amrito Adhikari confirmed the matter to media.
He said that the Jalpaiguri District Magistrate of India, Shama Parvin, has declared that import-export and passenger movement through immigration at the Banglabandha land port in Panchagarh will be suspended for three consecutive days from Wednesday to Friday (April 17 to 19) due to the Lok Sabha elections in India.
