Bangladesh ranked 128th in the Global Freedom of Expression Index in this year's Article Nineteen's 'Global Consensus Report 2024'. Article Nineteen authority unveiled the report at a press conference held at a hotel in the capital on Tuesday (May 21). The organization emphasized that the freedom of expression in Bangladesh is at risk, noting that India and Afghanistan are experiencing similar challenges in this regard.

বৈশ্বিক মতপ্রকাশের স্বাধীনতা সূচকে বাংলাদেশের এবারের অবস্থান ১২৮তম। যা ২০২২ সালে ছিল ১৩০তম। মঙ্গলবার (২১ মে) রাজধানীর একটি হোটেলে আয়োজিত সংবাদ সম্মেলনে ‘বৈশ্বিক মতপ্রকাশ রিপোর্ট ২০২৪’ প্রকাশ করেছে আর্টিকেল নাইনটিন। সেখানে জানানো হয়েছে এ তথ্য। সংস্থাটি বলছে, বাংলাদেশের মতপ্রকাশের স্বাধীনতা সংকটজনক। বাংলাদেশের মতো সংকটজনক অবস্থায় আছে ভারত ও আফগানিস্তান। বাংলাদেশের মতপ্রকাশ স্কোর মাত্র ১২। ২০১৮-২০২৩ সালে বাংলাদেশের স্কোর আটকে আছে ১১ ও ১২-এর মধ্যে।
