Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by 4 wickets
Bangladesh thrashed Sri Lanka by four wickets to win the three-match ODI series 2-1 on Monday.
Having won the toss, Sri Lanka’s skipper Kusal Mendis opted to bat first against Bangladesh, following which they were all out for 235 at the end of 50 overs.
Chasing the target of 236 runs, the hosts managed to register an easy win with a score of 237/6 in just 40.2 overs.
Bangladesh’s Tanzid Hasan hit 84 runs in 81 deliveries while Rishad Hossain and Mushfiqur Rahim scored 48* and 37* runs for Bangladesh respectively. Lahiru Kumara picked up 04 wickets, while Wanindu Hasaranga took 02 wickets.
The hosts won the first ODI of the series by six wickets courtesy of Shanto’s unbeaten 122. Sri Lanka fought their way back in the next outing, securing a close three-wicket win thanks to Pathum Nissanka’s composed 114.
