Bangladesh gets government nod for Pakistan tour

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had confirmed that it has received an in-principle approval from the government to proceed with the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan.

Uncertainty had surrounded the five-match tour due to recent border tensions between India and Pakistan.

However, with a ceasefire now in effect and the situation stabilising, cricket activities are resuming in Pakistan. The Pakistan Super League (PSL), which had been temporarily halted, is set to resume on May 17 with an adjusted schedule.

This shift has also impacted the Pakistan-Bangladesh T20I series, causing a slight postponement.

Although the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had been awaiting official confirmation from the BCB before finalising dates, that clearance has now been granted.

“We have got the green signal (from the government) though we are yet to receive the official letter which we are expecting sooner than latter but as far as I know government have taken the decision in principle that they will let us visit Pakistan for the upcoming tour,” a BCB official said.

Originally scheduled to take place from May 25 to June 3, the revised itinerary now has the T20I series starting on May 27, with the final game set for June 5, reports Cricbuzz.
