The battle to save the series has begun in Chattogram with several changes in the team. However, luck was not on the side of the Bangladesh captain at the toss in the second Test against Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe skipper Craig Ervine won the toss and chose to bat first in the final Test.

Changes in the team for this Test were anticipated. With the openers struggling for form, Anamul Haque Bijoy, who has been performing well in the DPL, was brought into the squad. The experienced batter finally earned a spot in the playing XI for the second Test in Chattogram. Tanzim Hasan Sakib, a regular in white-ball cricket, also made his Test debut. Additionally, Nayeem Hasan has been included to strengthen the spin department.

From the side that played the first Test in Sylhet, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Nahid Rana, and Khaled Ahmed have been dropped. Among them, Nahid Rana was not in contention for the second Test.

Zimbabwe have also made changes, including a debut. Vincent Mashekara is making his Test debut, while Tafadzwa Tsiga has been added to the squad. Mayo and Nyaouchi have been left out.
