Bangladesh secure big win as Mustafiz sets new record
Bangladesh defeated the USA by 10 wickets in the third T20I at the Prairie View Cricket Complex in Houston on Saturday, with 'Cutter Master' Mustafizur Rahman taking six wickets.
Mustafizur's six for 10 is now the best bowling performance by a Bangladeshi in T20Is. This marks the left-arm seamer's second five-wicket haul in T20Is.
The USA got off to a strong start as Andries Gous (27 off 15) and Shayan Jahangir (18 off 20) added 46 runs in just five overs before Shakib Al Hasan dismissed Gous. However, Mustafizur's introduction stalled the USA's progress as he took the wickets of Jahangir and Nitish Kumar, leaving the hosts at 56-3 in the 10th over.
Mustafizur then returned at the death to secure his best T20 figures, keeping the USA to a below-par total. Apart from the openers, only Corey Anderson (18) and Shadley van Schalkwyk (12) reached double figures.
Bangladesh chased down the target of 105 runs in just 11.4 overs without losing a wicket. Tanzid Hasan Tamim scored 58 runs off 42 balls, while Soumya Sarkar remained unbeaten with 43 off 28.
