Bangladesh seeks to import sacrificial animals from Brazil
Brazil expresses interest in exporting processed beef to Bangladesh; however, if feasible, Bangladesh prefers to receive sacrificial animals for Eid-ul-Azha.
Beef was also a focal point of discussion during the meeting between Commerce State Minister Ahsanul Islam Titu and Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira at a hotel in Dhaka on Sunday (April 7).
During the briefing following the meeting, Titu said, "Their emphasis was on animal protein, particularly meat. As you may know, Brazil is capable of producing and exporting meat at a significantly low cost. This was a key point of discussion."
Titu said, "Considering the approaching Eid-ul-Azha, I personally asked if it's feasible to bring live cattle to our country at a reasonable cost. They mentioned they would explore this possibility."
Brazilian Foreign Minister Vieira arrived in Dhaka on Sunday morning for a two-day visit, marking his inaugural high-level delegation to Bangladesh, accompanied by a business delegation.
