Bangladesh sees surge in remittances in September

Expatriates sent a total of $240.47 million in remittances to Bangladesh in September, which amounts to approximately TK 28,856.4 crore , averaging about $8.2 million received daily, according to a report from Bangladesh Bank (BB).

This information was revealed in an updated report from Bangladesh Bank on Tuesday (October 1).

The report highlights an increase in remittance flow compared to August, when $222.13 million was recorded. Of the September total, $63.82 million came through state-owned banks, $10.99 million via specialized banks, $165.35 million through private banks, and $6.21 million from foreign sector banks.

Notably, between September 29 and 30, expatriates sent $29.16 million, while $478.89 million was received from September 22 to 28, and $467.30 million from September 15 to 21, BB said.
