The Bangladesh national cricket team will play two T20 matches against the UAE later this month. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the schedule in a press release on Friday (May 2).

According to the announcement, Bangladesh will face the UAE in two T20 matches on May 17 and 19 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. This marks only the second bilateral T20 series for the UAE against a full-member Asian team in the past three years, with Bangladesh scheduled to tour Pakistan on May 21.

Subhan Ahmed, Chief Operating Officer of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), said, “We are thrilled to host another bilateral series against Bangladesh. In the past three years, we have hosted New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. These two matches will be great preparation for us ahead of the Asia Cup. We thank the Bangladesh Cricket Board for their support.”

BCB Chief Executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said, “These matches are crucial for our preparations ahead of the upcoming international fixtures and the Asia Cup.”

Notably, Bangladesh will begin a five-match T20 series against Pakistan on May 25. Before that, the team will get an opportunity to fine-tune their performance in the two matches against the UAE.
