Bangladesh wants to capture jute products market in Russia: Minister
Textile and Jute Minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak has said that Bangladesh wants to capture the jute and jute products market in Russia.
He made this comment after a courtesy meeting with Russian Ambassador to Dhaka Alexander Mantitsky at the Secretariat on Tuesday (April 9) morning.
At the meeting, the ambassador said, “Since the start of war, many Western countries have stopped exporting clothes to Russia. As a result, Russia is now interested in importing RMG products from Bangladesh.”
He also emphasised on the import of potatoes from Bangladesh.
At the meeting, the textiles and jute minister said, it has been discussed how the jute market in Russia can be expanded.
He said, "Progress can be made in this regard through increased visits of trade delegations of the two countries and exchange of views."
