Bangladeshi film ‘Demon Fish’ selected for Pune Short Film Festival
Bangladeshi film production company 369 Shorts has achieved a major success with its very first project. Their debut short film 'Demon Fish' has been officially selected for the prestigious 'Pune Short Film Festival 2025' in India.
The film is directed by filmmaker Fakhrul Arefeen Khan. 'Demon Fish' is a short visual storytelling film that portrays the brutal reality of the genocide that took place in Chuknagar on May 20, 1971, during the Bangladesh Liberation War.
In a press statement, director Fakhrul Arefeen Khan said, “This selection is a joyful moment for our team and also proves that local, original stories can find their place on the global stage.” As the founder of 369 Shorts, he also mentioned that the company is committed to producing bold and thought-provoking films.
The Pune Short Film Festival is well known for showcasing diverse and high-quality films from around the world. 'Demon Fish' will be screened at the festival in June, giving the creators an opportunity to present their work to an international audience.
369 Shorts also announced that they plan to continue creating films in the future that will spark thought among viewers and earn praise both at home and abroad.
