Bangladeshi youth killed in BSF firing along B'baria border
A Bangladeshi youth was shot dead allegedly by members of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along the Kasba border of Brahmanbaria around 8.00am on Monday (April 22).
The deceased was identified as Hasan, 26, a resident of Purba para area of Kaiumpur union under Kasba upazila.
According to police and local sources, Hasan went to Putia border area on Monday morning. Suddenly, he was shot in the waist, causing him to collapse instantly. Promptly, local villagers came to his aid, taking Hasan to Comilla Medical College Hospital. However, Hasan succumbed to his injuries during the journey to the hospital. His body was transferred to the Kasba Upazila Health Complex.
Rabeya Akhter, a doctor at Kasba Upazila Health Complex, said, "The victim was struck by a bullet in the back, resulting in his death. His body has been kept in the hospital morgue."
Kasba Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Raju Ahmed confirmed the matter. He said, "Through relatives and locals, I learned that after Hasan went to the border area, he was chased by the BSF and fired upon at one point."
