Bank deposits decreases by Tk13,500cr in 3 months

During July-September of the current year, bank deposits have decreased by Tk 13,498 crore.

This information has been revealed in a report of Bangladesh Bank.

According to the report, the deposit balance in the banking sector at the end of September stood at Tk 18,25,339 crore. At the end of last June, it was Tk 18,38,837 crore which means that deposits have decreased by Tk 13,498 crore in three months.

According to the report, deposits in state-owned and Islamic banks decreased the most during July-September. During this period, deposits in state-owned banks decreased by 2.59 percent and those in Islamic banks by 2.79 percent.

At the same time, deposits in foreign banks increased by 2.41 percent while in specialized banks it increased by 0.43 percent.
