Barcelona maintains perfect La Liga start with 6th victory

Barcelona continued its perfect start to the Spanish league season by beating Villarreal 5-1. This was their sixth straight win in the competition.

Robert Lewandowski scored two goals in the first half, and Raphinha added two more in the second half. Pablo Torre also scored for Barcelona. Lewandowski now has six goals in the first six matches and is the top scorer in the league.

Ayoze Pérez scored the only goal for the hosts in the 38th, with his team already trailing 2-0. Villarreal had entered the round in fourth place, four points behind Barcelona.

Barcelona increased their points to 18 in the league. They scored 22 goals and conceded five in six appearances. Fifth-place Villarreal have 11 points. Barcelona's nearest opponents in standings Real Madrid beat Espanyol 4-1 on Saturday to have 14 points.
