Barcelona delivered a dominant display to crush Real Madrid 5-2 in the Spanish Super Cup final in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday.

Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring in the fifth minute, but Barcelona responded brilliantly. Lamine Yamal equalized in the 17th minute with a stunning solo effort, Robert Lewandowski converted a penalty in the 30th minute, and Raphinha’s header in the 33rd minute made it 3-1. Alejandro Balde added the fourth in first-half stoppage time.

Raphinha netted his second in the 51st minute, extending Barcelona’s lead to 5-1. The match took a turn in the 56th minute when Wojciech Szczesny was sent off for fouling Mbappé, leaving Barcelona with 10 men. Rodrygo Goes pulled one back for Madrid with a brilliant free-kick in the 60th minute, but the European champions could not capitalize further despite late chances.

Jules Kounde and substitute goalkeeper Iñaki Peña delivered crucial defensive contributions to deny Mbappé and Jude Bellingham. The match also saw Dani Olmo’s controversial debut, but Barcelona’s dominant performance overshadowed off-field issues.

This emphatic victory secured Barcelona’s record-extending 15th Spanish Super Cup and marked a promising start to the Hansi Flick era. Real Madrid, despite flashes of brilliance, were left reeling from another heavy Clasico defeat.
