BCB meeting postponed due to Tamim's illness
While playing against Shinepukur Cricket Club in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League at the BKSP ground on Monday, Tamim Iqbal suddenly fell ill. The captain of Mohammedan was initially set to be airlifted to Dhaka by helicopter, but due to his severe condition, he was taken to a local hospital instead.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) postponed its meeting due to Tamim Iqbal's sudden illness. The meeting was scheduled for 12.00 pm on March 24 in Mirpur. BCB officials are now on their way to BKSP after learning about Tamim's condition.
According to sources from the club, during the match against Shinepukur Cricket Club, Tamim felt severe chest pain. Initially, efforts were made to bring him to Dhaka, but doctors later advised against travel and recommended he be taken to a local hospital. Tamim is being treated at a hospital in Savar.
Tamim underwent an ECG at the hospital, but on his way back from the field, the pain returned, and he was immediately taken back. After additional tests, it was confirmed that he had suffered a heart attack. He is now on life support at Fazilatunnesa Hospital in Savar.
