BCL activist killed in Sylhet clash between two factions

Tushar Chowdhury, an activist of the banned Chhatra League, was killed in a stabbing incident following a clash between two factions of the party over establishing dominance in Sylhet. The incident occurred around 10.00pm on Tuesday in the Daldali Tea Garden area near Shaheed Eidgah in the city.

Anisur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Airport Police Station, confirmed the matter on Wednesday.

The victim, Tushar Chowdhury (19), was a resident of Raynagar in Sylhet city and reportedly a member of the Bidhana Group, linked to the joint general secretary of the Sylhet Metropolitan Awami League. Police arrested Javed Ahmed, who was hiding under a bed in a house in the Ambarkhana Big Bazaar area of the city.

OC Syed Anisur Rahman said, "Tushar Chowdhury, was killed in a stabbing incident linked to establishing dominance. We received the information and have sent the body for an autopsy at Osmani Medical College. One person has been arrested in connection with the incident."
