BCL central committee VP Moshiur arrested

Police have arrested Moshiur Rahman, vice president of central committee of banned organization Chhatra League. Police arrested him from in front of the BCSIR at the capital's Science Lab on Wednesday night.

New Market Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohsin Uddin told the media that there is a case against Moshiur Rahman in New Market Police Station, Shahbagh Police Station and Dhanmondi Police Station.

He also said that there is a case against him in the July student movement and a case against him for attacking BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's convoy. He was arrested from BCSIR at around 8 pm. He will be sent to court today, Thursday. After that, if it is found necessary to remand him during interrogation, a remand will be sought in the court.

On October 24 last year, the Public Security Division of the Home Ministry issued a notification under the Anti-Terrorism Act banning the Awami League's sister organization Chhatra League.
