Benazir seeks more time to appear before ACC
Benazir Ahmed, the former Inspector General of Police, has asked the Anti-Corruption Commission for a 15-day extension to respond to allegations of corruption.
ACC Commissioner Jahurul Haque stated that Benazir Ahmed was scheduled to appear before the anti-graft body on Thursday. However, on Wednesday, Ahmed requested additional time through his lawyer.
His wife Jishan Mirza, along with his daughters, Farjin Rishta Binte Benazir and Tahsina Raisa Binte Benazir, were also summoned to appear before the national anti-corruption body on June 9.
When questioned about Benazir's appearance, ACC Commissioner Jahurul Haque responded, "I don't know exactly. However, I heard that he (Benazir) applied for more time."
Regarding the next step in this situation, he stated, "The investigation team will decide on issuing fresh summons, as this matter does not reach the commission level."
