For the first time, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has secured a football sponsor. Renowned Japanese ball manufacturing company Molten has signed a three-year agreement with BFF as a football partner. The deal was finalized on Monday (May 19) at the BFF House.

According to the agreement, Molten will supply BFF with a total of 12,000 footballs over three years, providing 4,000 balls annually. Out of these, 2,000 balls will be given free of cost each year, and the remaining 2,000 will be sold to BFF at a special discounted rate. These balls will be used in domestic tournaments and training sessions.
BFF Vice-President and Chairman of the Marketing Committee, Fahad Karim, said, “Molten will give us 2,000 footballs for free every year and we’ll be able to purchase another 2,000 at a discount. This will help us save nearly Tk 50 lakh per year, totaling about Tk 1 crore in savings.”

The agreement was signed by Takashi Ozaki, Asian Group Leader of Molten Corporation, and Fahad Karim on behalf of BFF. BFF Vice-Presidents Naser Shahriar Zahedi and Wahid Uddin Chowdhury Happy were also present at the signing ceremony.

It has been reported that earlier, BFF used to buy footballs with financial assistance from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Now, with this deal in place, that money can be allocated for other purposes. Last year, BFF purchased over 3,000 Molten balls. According to the Technical Department, BFF needs around 4,000 footballs each year. If additional balls are required, BFF can purchase from other companies, and there are no restrictions from Molten in that regard.

As part of the agreement, like other sponsors, Molten will also receive advertisement space on BFF’s promotional boards.
