Bidhan Rebeiro invited to be speaker at FCC in Saudi Arabia

Bangladeshi film critic, writer, and journalist Bidhan Rebeiro has been invited at the prestigious Film Criticism Conference (FCC), organised by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Culture and the Film Commission. This international event will be held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, where Bidhan Rebeiro will speak at a symposium, a vital event segment. The conference will take place from November 6 to November 10, 2024.

The FCC began in 2023 to create a global platform for experts, writers, teachers, and professionals worldwide to exchange ideas on film, television, and new media. Sharing his thoughts on being invited to this year's Film Criticism Conference, Bidhan Rebeiro expressed that he feels honoured to be a part of such an international gathering.

In 2022, Bidhan Rebeiro served as a FIPRESCI jury member at France's 75th Cannes Film Festival. In addition to Cannes, he has also served as a FIPRESCI jury member at the Dhaka International Film Festival. Alongside his role as the Assistant Secretary General of the International Film Critics Association of Bangladesh (IFCAB), Bidhan Rebeiro teaches in the Film and Television Department at Jagannath University. He has authored several books and articles on cinema and edits a film magazine called Cinema Darshan.
