The Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum (BJAF), a platform of pro-BNP lawyers, called for the arrest and trial of former Chief Justice A B M Khairul Haque.

The protest took place on Tuesday (April 29) outside the Supreme Court Bar Association building.

Speakers at the rally alleged that former Chief Justice A B M Khairul Haque played a key role in undermining democracy and human rights in the country. They urged the interim government to arrest him and initiate legal proceedings without delay.

Lawyer leaders stated that Khairul Haque must face strict justice to prevent the rise of similar judges in the future. They cautioned that stronger protest actions would be taken, if necessary, to push for justice. They also noted that partisan and authoritarian-leaning judges remain in both higher and lower courts and demanded their immediate dismissal.

The rally was addressed by several prominent speakers, including Advocate Zainul Abedin, President of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum (BJAF); Barrister Kaisar Kamal, Secretary General; Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajal, Joint Secretary; Advocate Gazi Kamrul Islam Sajal, Organizing Secretary; Barrister Badruddoza Badal, Convener of the Supreme Court unit; Advocate Gazi Touhidul Islam, Member Secretary; as well as Advocate Mohammad Ali, Advocate Mahbubur Rahman Khan, and Advocate Md. Maksud Ullah, among others.
